Online Roulette and the Modern Roulette player!

This page is dedicated to online roulette. I love roulette, both online and offline, and have played for years. I remember my grandfather taking me to a casino when I was just legal age to gamble, and he showed me the ropes. I still love to play roulette, and he did also. Sadly, he is not with us anymore to enjoy online roulette as much as I do, but I whenever I play I think of him.

Let us chat for a second about the history of online roulette.

Roulette History.

Roulette is a French word meaning “small wheel”. This small wheel spins, and has numbers from 0 to 36. There are two versions of the game, and the French one has a Single zero, while the American version has a zero and a double zero.

The game was invented in about the 18th century in France as a combination of existing games, and the original had a zero and double zero. Interesting enough, it was not until the mid 1800’s when German decided to make a single zero wheel as a competitor to the French version. But today we still call the single zero wheel the “French version”. Weird huh?

In the late 1800’s the game made it to the United States; hoever the firs version only had numbers up to 28!

In the late 1860’s Germany abolished gambling, so the Blanca family moved to Monte Carlo, and now we know how Monte Carlo became as big as it is now for gambling. Still a dream of mine to make it there one day. Well that the brief overview, let us talk about how to play.

Online roulette rules compared to traditional roulette rules.

There is not many differences between the online roulette games and traditional roulette. The main difference is online roulette you can play many games much faster, abd you have the convience of playing at your own pace.

Online Roulette Game Play

In the game, players may choose to place bets on either a number, a range of numbers, the colors red or black, or whether the number is odd or even. See the pictures below to see the differences between a single zero and double zero wheel.

The houses edge in the American roulette is double the French roulette by double, from about 2.5% to 5%. I still prefer the American version, but they are both fun games to play. Let’s chat about the rules

Online roulette bets

Inside bets

Straight-up: a single number bet. The chip is placed entirely on the middle of a number square.
Split: a bet on two adjoining numbers, either on the vertical or horizontal (as in 14-17 or 8-9). The chip is placed on the line between these numbers.
Street: a bet on three numbers on a single horizontal line. The chip is placed on the edge of the line of a number at the end of the line (either the left or the right, depending on the layout).
Corner (or square): a bet on four numbers in a square layout (as in 11-12-14-15). The chip is placed at the horizontal and vertical intersection of the lines between the four numbers.
Six Line: a bet on two adjoining streets, with the chip placed at the corresponding intersection, as if in between where two street bets would be placed.
Trio: a bet on the intersecting point between 0, 1 and 2, or 00, 2 and 3.
Outside bets

Outside bets typically have smaller payouts with better odds at winning.

1 to 18: a bet on one of the first low eighteen numbers hitting.
19 to 36: a bet on one of the last high eighteen numbers hitting.
Red or Black: a bet on which color the roulette wheel will show.
Even or Odd: a bet on an even or odd number.
Dozen Bets: a bet on the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third group (25-36) of twelve numbers.
Column Bets: a bet on all 12 numbers on any of the three vertical lines (such as 1-4-7-10 on down to 34). The chip is placed on the space below the final number in this string.
Online roulette Strategies and how to win roulette

“You cannot beat a roulette table unless you steal money from it.” – Albert Einstein

Over the years many people have come up with different strategies on how to beat roulette, both online and traditional. I have yet to see one fool proof system, but I have had to say I know it is gambling. Is 99% luck, and I still like to try the systems to see if it helps me keep my money in play longer. If that happens, then the online roulette system is a winner in my book!

The Martingale betting strategy (wherein the gamer doubles the bet after every loss) is maybe one of the better known ones, but is still a gamble. I personally prefer just to bet on my lucky numbers, but that is me.

Is Online Roulette Rigged?

Like anything in life nothing is guaranteed, but I believe to play at top online casinos, like casino33.com They have a RTg backend, and in my book, the RTG games are the best. They also have always paid me fast, and easily, no hassle. I think playing online roulette at only reputable casinos is the way to go.
